Founded in September 2001 by pro-democracy individualsfrom Arakan in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Narinjara News is an independent mediaorganization located in Sittwe, Rakhine, Myanmar. It creates daily news storiesin both English and Burmese, concentrating on topics like human rights, Arakanpolitics, society, culture, and Bangladesh-Burma developments. The news isdistributed through platforms such as the website (www.narinjara.com), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/narinjara.info/), Daily TV, and a weekly TV program. Narinjara News isdedicated to advancing diversity, social harmony, democratic ideals, freedom ofinformation, democracy, and human rights in Myanmar. Narinjara News iscurrently in search of a news translator to translate Burmese news into Englishnews.

CoreFunctions

• Ensure the faithfultransmission of the original meaning and tone in translated content.

• Conduct thoroughproofreading of translated texts, focusing on grammar, spelling, andpunctuation accuracy.

• Collaborate closely withinternal team members to fulfill their specific translation requirements.

• Edit content with meticulousattention to preserving its original format, encompassing font and structure.

• Assume completeresponsibility for the translation of publications and news productionsoriginating from the Narinjara News Room.

• Translate a minimum of sixnews stories daily.

• Contribute to the successfulexecution of Narinjara's news production programs with a high level of ambitionand motivation.

• Foster effectivecommunication among Narinjara staff and relevant entities when necessary.

• Provide a comprehensivemonthly progress report.

• Undertake any tasks assignedby the line manager.
